Griffey again?
Jim Caple suggests that Ken Griffey Jr. may be able to resurrect his career by returning to Seattle after four feckless injury-ridden years in Cincinnati. He has some reasonable rationale for this and prerequisites for a deal. After all,
IMO, Caple is nuts.
While the Mariner faithful may not harbor ill feelings toward the guy anymore, there's still enough primadonna memories to make many wince. Also, the M's don't need a gimpy DH to replace another gimpy DH.
I don't think so.
- Griffey was immensely popular during his time in Seattle.
- Griffey could be an effective DH/part-time outfielder, especially since Edgar Martinez is likely to retire after this season.
- Griffey seems to be jinxed in Cincy.
